  9. This is an advanced electromagnetism textbook which works its way from
  10. statics through to extensive coverage of different kinds of emission
  11. processes.  The nicest thing about the book is that it employs a uniform
  12. and consistent mathematical approach, using tensors and working in the
  13. Fourier domain wherever the equations and calculations can be simplified
  14. that way.  Also the authors are always careful to make the assumptions
  15. being used explicit, something many electromagnetism textbooks fail to
  16. do.  The text is well organised and clearly presented; there are
  17. plentiful line drawings and each chapter has a set of exercises to
  18. entertain the reader - all round a very nice textbook.  
  19.  
  20. Prerequisites for understanding this book would be the electromagnetism
  21. component of a physics degree and a basic mathematical competence.
